Are the pedals on the EKX GTS just for show, or are they actually comfortable to use?
The EKX GTS, with a top speed of 50 mph, is an electric motorcycle and mainly designed for power-assisted riding, so the pedals are about 80% for show. While they are fully functional, they aren’t meant for long-distance pedaling, especially at speeds over 15 mph. I typically use the pedals for low-speed turns or to get an extra boost on steep inclines. The pedals are included to meet legal requirements, but their practical use is fairly limited.
What’s the difference between the EKX and the Freego if I’m looking for e-motos/dirt bikes?
Both the EKX X21 MAX and the Freego X2 Pro are excellent options for beginners and budget-conscious riders, but they cater to different needs:
The EKX X21 MAX is larger, supporting riders up to 6'3", and is throttle-only, with pedals mainly for legal purposes. It's ideal for larger riders and tough off-road use. The Freego X2 Pro is smaller, fitting riders up to 6'0", and offers pedal assist. However, its suspension and brakes may need upgrades for serious off-roading.
Does it have pegs?
While the bike comes with standard pedals, they can be replaced with straight Harley-type pegs if preferred. This offers the flexibility to customize the bike to your personal riding style.
